Editor's Note

This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers.

If you're considering applying for The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, you'll want to pay close attention.

The Business Platinum has an $895 annual fee (see rates and fees). That makes it among the most expensive business cards on the market.

With an annual fee that high, receiving the highest welcome offer possible is important. Amex recently introduced new terms for the Business Platinum's welcome offer, with new cardmembers now potentially eligible for an exceptionally high offer (subject to additional terms).

So, here's what you need to know about the current offer on the Amex Business Platinum.

Current Amex Business Platinum welcome offer

New Business Platinum cardmembers can find out their offer and see if they are eligible for as high as 300,000 bonus points after spending $20,000 in purchases within the first three months of card membership. Welcome offers vary and you may not be eligible for an offer.

If you're offered the full 300,000 bonus points, that's by far the highest-ever offer we've seen on this card. So, it's worth filling out an application to see which offer you receive.

You'll be able to see your offer before you submit your application, so you can choose to try again later if the offer you receive isn't optimal.

THE POINTS GUY

Based on our March 2026 valuations, this welcome offer is worth up to $6,000. That's fantastic value for the spending requirement, if you're able to get the full 300,000 points.

It's possible to get even more value if you redeem your Amex Membership Rewards points for lucrative redemptions.

To earn the full bonus, your business must spend a lot on the card quickly. With its hefty initial spending requirement and statement credits (which we'll talk about below), this card is targeted toward businesses with employees and significant expenses.

Keep in mind that Amex only allows cardmembers to earn one welcome bonus per card in a lifetime. That's why we encourage prospective cardmembers to be patient and wait for the best offer they can get.

Who is eligible for the Amex Business Platinum welcome offer?

The personal and business versions of the Platinum are considered different products. So, even if you currently have the American Express Platinum Card®, the issuer's one-bonus-per-card-per-lifetime rule won't prevent you from earning the business card's bonus.

Likewise, you may be eligible to earn a welcome offer on the Amex Business Platinum even if you already have another Amex business card, such as the American Express® Business Gold Card.

However, Amex may not give you a welcome offer based on several factors, including the number of American Express cards you have opened and closed.

So, look out for any messages or pop-ups while you apply. Amex's welcome bonus qualification tool should notify you if you aren't eligible for the welcome bonus and allow you to withdraw your application.

Bottom line

The Business Platinum delivers exceptional value through its generous welcome offer, robust statement credits and premium perks.

While the $895 annual fee is steep, businesses that maximize these benefits can more than offset the cost, making this one of the most rewarding business cards currently available — especially with its highest-ever offer.
